Handbrake problem

Postby Colhaz » Sun Sep 06, 2009 5:47 pm

I currently have a 2007 Renault Megane Cabriolate and are experiencing a problem as to my handbrake not latching on. Does anyone know of this problem and how it can be resolved. :-) :-)

I have a stickied 'how to' replace guide in ownership problems. Not the same model as yours, but probably a similar job to replace. I'll post the link if you can't find it.

The problem is almost certainly a snapped tiny bit of plastic in the handle. If you take the trim off that the handle passes through, you can manually lock the hand brake on and still use the button to release it. Not recommended though.

Best advice for Megane owners: sell it before it bankrupts you!
