Sidelight Bulbs

Having done some searching, there seems to be plenty of topics on changing Headlight bulbs and some on Indicator bulbs but I don't seem able to find anything on changing Sidelight bulbs (specifically on the nearside). Is it really such a hideous job that nobody even wants to mention it or have I just made a poor job of searching? Is removing the Bumper the only way to do this? If so, has anybody got any useful help and tips on doing this?

Cheers.

My understanding is that there is a removable panel in the wheel arch which give access.

you remove the cover by going through the wheel arch, then sort of pinch and twist at the same time to get them out. i've got changing the headlights and side lights down to ten minutes for both sides but tend to have cuts and scratches on my arms. i was considering advertising my services in the local paper but i might end up looking like i'd been self harming

the passenger side sidelight you can do from the top, the drivers side is a lot harder but i found "easier" to do from the wheelarch with the wheel off and the top trim removed
