Rough sounding engine at startup

Postby kev-griggs » Sun Jul 26, 2009 6:37 pm

Hi
Got a problem with our 2004 Megane 1.6, done about 50k, when its started up first thing in the morning and if its not been driven for about 7 hours, it rattles like mad and sounds like a diesel engine and stalls, restart it and it does the same thing, give it a rev and after about 15 seconds the engine note changes and its fine.
Any ideas anyone.

yeah i've had to book it back in already because it's started doing it again. i'm getting the water pump done at the same time, so that's a nice £395 bill.
