Hi all
I was sold the car as a 1.5 dci 100 however the sticker on the drivers door pillar claims it to be a dci 80. I had a little panic (as you do) and searched the web to find that someone else had the same problem. I have no engine code plate on the plastic engine cover either but I read there is a section of your vin code that tells you what engine is in it. I read that CMR205 is an engine i.d. code. Is this the 100hp or have I been ripped off?
The only thing that is comforting is that "My Renault" lists it as a 100. Can anyone confirm the info above and put me out of my misery?
Many thanks,
Anthony.

Quick check would be to stick your registration in an insurance site quote like Directline.com as these will match model and engine to the details recorded with DVLA (directline also put the PS power in the engine details.)
If not try the DVLA website to see what comes up.
Final resort would be to phone Renault UK and ask them, tell them you are considering buying it but the drivers pilar sticker is showing different to the dealers details.

04 Plate 1.6 Dynamique
Issues to Date:
Dephaser - replaced
Cam Sensor - replaced
Start up problems, goes to two cylinders unless reved to hell - annoying, but untraced cause.
Water Leak in Boot - removed, came back, removed, came back again. Given up

OK so directline and "my renault" both say dci 100 so I am pretty much at ease with it now. Must of had some clown at the end of the production line.
Thanks.

The VIN code contains 205 if it's the 100bhp model.
