Flashing Engine Mgmt light and loss of power

Hi All,

Driving down the motorway yesterday (70-80mph) and engine mgmt light started flashing and car lost power.
Speed dropped to around about 50mph with foot to floor.

Managed to get home, stopped car then re-started and everything ok and has been so since.

Any ideas what would cause this as I need to make an 800 mile round trip next week !!!!

Is your car petrol or diesel? This sort of info may help members form an educated guess as to the cause of your problems.
