engine wont start with the clutch dipped :-(

i have a 1.4 expression on a 53 plate.

when i jump in and insert the card and press the clutch and press the start button it doesnt do anything but i can hear a clicking noise from the glove box area
but it works fine when i insert the card and press the brake it starts 1st time,

any ideas ?

its a common problem. The wire that goes to the sensor on the clutch pedal is not long enough, so after a while of being pulled itll snap from the sensor. Easily fixed by soldering in a short extention wire in there. Happened to mine, took all of 10 mins to fix and i havent had a problem since.

It wasnt snaped it had just come out of the sensor just pushed it bk in now it works fine.
