Problem with my car only had 2 days

Hi all i love my megane loads but like i sead had it 2days and got the service light on and a engine light flash amber dont no what that it is for as not got a handbook to tell me, all so the car sounds not great and is not smoth when driving or put foot down on go padel car is a 2 liter auto.

If i took it to renault how much would it cost me then? thanks

I presume your car's out of warranty and you havn't just bought it from a dealer? Now why do you want to take it to Renault, they'll charge you £80 just for a diagnosis the regulars on here avoid the dealers like the plague. There's likely to be a Renault specialist near you, if there isn't try and find a small reliable independent garage.

Wow renault charger that for a diagnosis wow that is a lot my car is a 2003 so yea not in warranty now,
Am thinking of taking it to get a service to see if they can pick up what is the problem as it needs a service any way and then if they do no what is up with it will ring up the garage and tell them i want it fix.

Unless you're the sorta guy who doesn't mind getting a bit oily that sounds like a good bet. Hope its had its cambelt change, its at least a year overdue if not. Owners handbook here: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=6783

I can not see if it has been done so may have to get cambelt done as well so how much you think that would cost as well lol.

Oh dear, ain't hindsight wonderful! A cambelt change will set you back about £300, get them to change the waterpump at the same time, its not worth not doing it, as a serviceable item they're only about £40 but to change them neccessatates a cambelt change anyway. BTW if it turns out the car has not had a cambelt and you take a chance and it does break, you are likely looking at a new engine ££££s!

Yea that is what am thinking better paying out for it now then breking my engine so will get it done on the service.
