Lubricate folding door mirrors?

Postby robznet » Mon Apr 06, 2009 6:16 pm

Hi Guys (and Girls!).

Not been around for a while, it's good to be back! Hope everyone is ok. :)

Does anyone know the correct (or in fact any way) to lubricate the folding mechanisn on electric door mirrors? Mine have gone very "shaky" when opening. They judder all the way out but operate fine when folding them in. I did manage to squirt some WD40 in between the door mounted moulding and the mirror body some time ago, it did help, but it didn't last too long! :banghead

Any info on the above would be very much appreciated.

Cheers for now

Thanks for that, I appreciate that WD40 is not the best product to use and I already have some silicone grease I bought for the slides on my sunroof. What I really need to know is how to get it in there! :-(

Thanks for your reply anyway.

fold the mirrors in and just spray any kind of spray grease in and then operate the mirrors in and out
