I managed to successfully fix a recent problem with the alarm going off after I locked the car with the card key after approximately 30 seconds. I had broken off both of the volumetric sensors after pulling out a large item from the back of my Megane Estate. The sensors are located on both sides of the inside rear near roof level on the 'C' pillars.
I was left with two coloured exposed wires [grey and white] on either side.

Given the age of the vehicle [2007], I was content to lock the car without the alarm. Another post elsewhere suggested disconnecting the alarm by firstly locating it in the rear of the vehicle underneath the boot covers. However, in my Megane Estate, I couldn't see anything.

Anyway, my solution was to simply link grey to grey and white to white with two lengths of domestic bell wire [the smallest wire I could find to match the small volumetric, copper wiring] using simple cable connectors. I've taped the wires to the inside roof inside the boot, although you could do a neater job by running the wires under the boot cover lower down.

Worked immediately. The new wiring link effectively creates an uninterrupted electrical loop, which is not broken. Make certain that you only link both sides by linking the same colours [in my case, grey to grey and white to white] to avoid short circuiting the system.

Obviously, the alarm will not activate. However, the car will central lock as normal and the engine immobiliser is fully activated, which is the main thing for me.

Easy fix!
