Re: Stickies for fuel consumption
I wanted to give feedback on the first tank of diesel in my new Megane 05 80bhp DCI. Almost 80,000 miles ex-fleet but very tidy with full service history.
I work as community nurse in Pembrokeshire, only one " long run " on this tank a round trip of 90 miles, mostly short journeys.
Total distance travelled by the time of the quater tank mark...........592 miles.
fuel use 45.72 ltr / 10.05 gallons.......
m.p.g. 58.91. I am very impressed.

Re: Stickies for fuel consumption
Hi all,
1.5dci 106HP dynamique sporttourer 07,almost only Shell diesel fuel, Scotland (often mountain trips), outside the town always cruise control, usually the consumption is as follow:
- town driving 45-50mpg,
- out of town (max speed 64) 55-60mpg,
- out of town (max speed 74) 50-55mpg (once did 59 but not sure why).
Strangely I noticed that the fuel consumption is not greatly influenced by the car weight (passsangers+load) but the speed.

Re: Stickies for fuel consumption
Megane GT 2.0 DCI now done 24k since Mid March 07
Seen a big increase since 20k or so, now getting about 48 - 50 MPG, on average 600 miles per tank. Always on Shell Diesel and never supermarket, used supermarket was losing from 5mpg upwards in MPG
Any other GT DCi owners with an update?

Re: Stickies for fuel consumption
Now i have a heavy right foot, but i've just done this on the trip back from my girlfriends.
Fuel used - 0.9G
Average - 54.2MPG
Trip - 52.3
Average 45.1MPH
The journey is roughly 40 miles A road/dual carriageway the rest town 30/20mph zones.
I know its not the best you will ever see but i'm chuffed with it and i don't think i can be arsed to try and beat it

'05 1.6VVT privilege cabriolet 45k auto and mpg nightmare!
True, I currently have the dephaser pulley issue which messes things up.
My average speed is around 21mph and my mpg struggles at 28mpg. When I bought it I had 33mpg on the 'puter from the previous owner. I so would love 40mpg and I really don't drive it hard.

Re: Stickies for fuel consumption
Hi great idea, I am averaging 60.5 mpg. this figure is over the last 3months and includes motorway driving and local, my average mph on Motorway is around the 70 mark, thought this was quite good and am really pleased with this return. I have a 1500 diesel car.
Re: Stickies for fuel consumption
A new mpg record?
1.5dCi 86Bhp Sport Tourer - 05 55 plate with approx 45k on the clock.
Just filled up with trip reading 857.3 miles on the last tank - 56.2 litres used.
That's over 69mpg!!!

Re: Stickies for fuel consumption
I get around 36 average pottering about town and 41.5 on a journey sitting at 60 mph. I have also found that should i be in 5th gear too early like under 40mph although the car is not labouring it does dring a lot more so i tend to use 5th at 40+ mph. i was quite bad for sticking it in 5th at 30mph... had to get out of that habit with the fuel prices the way they where getting!!
I only have the baby engine the 1.4 16v Authentique even running the Air Con does not really affect my fuel i think its just driving habits. Renault petrol engines have never been an economical choice. I once owned a Clio 1.2 sport ant it was a thirsty car averaging about 38 to the gallon and my 1.4 megane 1 was just as gutsy on fuel averaging about 34mpg. But the megane is a heavy little car and is always going to be if renault keep making them saferwith the iplact beams safety cages airbags... take all that away and your fuel figures would be much better.

Re: Stickies for fuel consumption
The past 1600 miles has seen a return of 36.4mpg from my 2.0l 16v petrol, which is pretty typical for me. I thought that was great....until I saw the 1.5dci averages. Damn.
53 plate 2.0l Megane 5 door Dynamique. Tinted windows, all pimp like.
