intermittent cutting out

Postby drums2 » Sun Oct 17, 2010 6:50 pm

Any idea's I have a renault megane 1600 16vvt 2003 with 30.000miles on the clock when I start it from cold no problems but after driving it for about 2 to 3 miles and I hit a bump or turn a corner at low revs the car cuts out (not every time but most) then if i catch it in time by reving the engine then no probs but if it cuts out and I try starting it again it seems to struggle to start but if I press the start button then press stop again then press start again it starts fine... I know weird/french. I also have to do this start stop routine every morning when I drive from my house to work and stop on the way at my local store about 3 miles on the way there are no funny noises coming from the engine so i dont think by the other comment I have read that it is the dephaser thingy. I used to love this car but after various sensors and coil packs replaced im getting fed up to the back teeth with it.

if it sounds like a bag of spanners when its starts up it might be the dephaser. try cleaning throttle first.
