Hi,
I've got a problem with regards to the bulbs on my 2005 megane cc.
I looked at the very useful guide on here with regards to changing the headlight bulbs, but as i was carrying out the bulb change the clip that holds the bulb unit in place fell out and i do not know where it goes back into the housing. it isnt the bulb, or the black plastic part that the bulb goes into, but the thin wire clip that you remove. this fell out as i tried to replace the bulb, rather than just moving up out of the way. does anyone know where it needs to be clipped back in, so that it can hold the bulb unit in place? withouth clipping this back in place the bulb just moves around as i drive.
or is there are way to "fudge" this so that the bulb stays in place?
the pictures in the bulb replacement guide are blurred and i cannot make out where it goes.
I am not keen on paying a local dealer about £100 to change a bulb and feel i have now messed up doing this myself!
thanks in advance to anyone who is able to help, my frustratd brain and sore, scuffed, scrathed wrists cant take much more pain!!!!

Re: Bulb problem (not changing bulb exactly)
You need this clip in place to have the bulb propery aligned or it wont pass an MOT.
What i would suggest is you take off your front bumper an remove the light housing . Its only held in by three screews. You will be able to clearly see where the clip locates.
The bumper can be off within 5 to 10 mins.
I would not like to do this blind even when i know the exact layout.
Regards
Patrick

These days I replace all bulbs except the full beam at the service. Bumper off, half an hour, no problems throughout the year...

hi thanks for both replies, most appreciated!
is there a guide anywhere to removing the bumper?
"Its only held in by three screews. " is the light housing only held on by 3 screws, or the bumper??
thanks again!

A torx set can be picked up for a few quid.
Although I use this set which i got from argos... (£21)
Always been handy to have around.

(the lights areheld by three screews)
The bumper is held by ( 4 torx in arches (2 each side) 3 bolts underneath and 8 plastic 'screews' under the bonnet.)
