Broken piece of metal from right wheel arch

Postby Lemming » Sun Aug 15, 2010 12:16 pm

I have a 2005 Renault Megane 1398cc Dynamique, returned from holiday, car been sitting a few weeks, went to drive it off the driveway and made an alarming knocking sound and the steering was difficult, found a piece of black curved metal, looks like a spring or something lying on the driveway, looks corroded at one end - obviously cant drive the car, any ideas? It has done 38,000 and recently had its cam belt replaced. :sad

The spring is gone, £200+ to replace. The replacement needs to match the stiffness of the remaining one, they are colour coded. It is advisable to replace the upper strut bearing as well, it may be also damaged.
