Hello all and what a great forum.
i have tried to find the answer to my next question but have failed.. So here goes (And sorry if it has been asked before)
Right my wife and I have picked up her Megane today and have already stumbled on a problem
(03 reg 1.6i 16v vvt, 5dr, PRIVILEGE, Quite a few toys on board)
Right Keyless entry problem.
Right I can lock and unlock the car using remote buttons.
I can start car with key card in my pocket
I can lock car with all external button (4 on handle, 1 on boot)
I can then walk up to car and unlock the boot without using remote by just getting close to boot and using boot release..
BUT heres the problem... I CAN NOT open any of the door by just grabbing a handle and pulling even when close to the car I have to then use the remote to unlock.
What am I doing wrong or has the function been disabled in any way???
Help appreciated.
Simon

Re: Keyless Entry Query
All of them together?
Is there a way of testing them or even getting to them to remove and look at?

Yep all of them likely died one after another before you got it. My first Megane had all but one fail, didn't get it on my Scenic for that reason and my current Megane hasn'r had any fail at all - yet... If you got it from the dealer hold them respsonsible if they advertised the feature to you, if not get ready for a big bill unless your able to do the job yourself.

Yes I would be able to do the job myself, any idea on price for the sensors, or even a part number?

Expensive very expensive as new.
Best bet is to get along to a breaker and strip them out.

Re: Keyless Entry Query
No actually the sensor is really cheap £25-£35. I think the handle was £70. Once you've opened up the door handle you may be able to save some of the sensors once you have dried them and check for corrosion etc.

Is the sensor in the Door Handle itself
OR
is it the black square pad with the two circles on the door panel??
Cheers for the help

Re: Keyless Entry Query
You have two parts, one behind the black square part is the cheaper part which suffers from water ingress. The other part the handle can fail aswell so doesn't unlock when you pull the handle or lock when you press the handle.

Cheers, I will strip all door and get the sensors out and see if I can dry them out and get them working again.
