diy cambelt change

going to get cambelt kit for my 2003 1.9dci
any guides within the forum or on the web
any precautions i should take

Lots, well one big one - the belt is tensioned properly with a tool that measures frequency. You can change it yourself, but the suggestion is that you drive it very gingerly to the nearest properly equipped garage for it to be fine tuned otherwise it may not last long. In my opinion, because of the labour involve in removing the aux belt and everything else to do the fine tuning, you might be better off finding a garage (not necessarily a dealership) that has the correct equipment.
