he card reader on my megane 04plate is playing up, i have changed the batterys in both key fob but still have the same problem, basically it fails to find the key when i place it the reader, after alot of in/out it eventually regonises the card and starts.
I have located a 04 plate which is being broken into parts and still has the card reader, my question is can you just swap it straight or is there a coding issue?

I dont think it is, but theres one sure way to find out!....

Depends on whether the pairing is done between the key transducer and the reader integral electronics or the key and some other electronics via the reader.... There is probably a technical note about it (see the links section).
If you can get the salvaged bit for cheap, do an ulrich and try it! If not, best check!
