Indicator bulb removal

Postby paulbucknall » Wed Apr 21, 2010 11:22 am

My 2004 1.9 Sports Tourer seems to have a problem with the left hand indicator bulb coming loose. it's happended a few times and I have taken the bulb holder out and re fitted it which has been fine. Yesterday it happended again after approx 6 months. I took the bulb holder out, put a bit of wd 40 on the connections and put it back in but this time it didn't work. I then wasn't able to remove the bulb holder- it turns and gets to point where it clicks so I'm wondering if I have damaged something ?!!Although I couldn't remove the bulb holder I was able to tighten the holder so did get the indicator working again after a bit of fiddling.
The clicking bit has worried me and I'm wondering if I may have problems if I need to replace the bulb, anyone encountered this and am I likely to have damed the light unit? thanks.

Have you removed the whole cluster, or fiddling through the tiny hole in the arch liner? The bumper off-on is a 20 minutes job, 10 minutes each way...
