Had the same problem (radio dead, temp display always illuminated) on mine (1.5 DCi 105hp) twice now. Seems to coincide with the cold weather.
Dealer (Arnold Clark Wigan) were very pleasant and took the car in at a couple of hours notice, reset it, and I was back on the road within an hour. Apparently they have a fix now but this requires a new radio which they have on order (2 - 5 working days).
This morning (a chilly -3degC) I was prompted for the security code. God bless those french electrics!
For curiosities sake I would love to know what I need to do the reset myself. Do I need a special tool to get the radio out?

Re: Stereo completely dead
I bought four 3mm nails in local hardware shop, that worked perfectly for getting out stereo.

Re: Stereo completely dead
This has just happened to my 2007 CABRIOLET COUPE 1.6 PRIVILEGE.
It's been about -2 to -3 in Dublin and the radio simply won't power on since yesterday morning.
Going to remove the radio & cables and see if it gets it working.

Re: Stereo completely dead
Disconnected the radio for two minutes and re-connected it - ALL BACK WORKING.

Hi everyone
Renault denied ever having seen this radio problem. It happens everytime weather gets to about -2c on my megane cc. I take the battery off for about a minute and re-connect, works perfectly then until the next time. Pain but dont thinks its a radio fault - more likely UCH on car.
