Problem!! No start up

Postby jason_parnell » Mon Oct 19, 2009 1:14 pm

hi everyone i know a few people have had this major issue with the meganes and i have it too now. cut a long story short my car F**KED up and it went to garage they said is "it a sensor car will be back with you soon" (took 2 weeks). phone call car still not working we checking problem now. 6 weeks later, me being on holiday 2 of those weeks they said is a dephaser kit! i told the garage i could of told them that when they first got car and in which case i did drop it in as a hint. so anyway they took 2 weeks to get all the parts and shove them in the car then they said "we just puttin last part in and going to start it up" and to my case of bad luck the car did not start so now the car is sat there for last 4 days trying to be started.

i just wondered if anyone had this problem after these parts were fitted or may know what the cause may possibly be!

i have had so much s**t with this car i feel like burning the damn thing out but i have finance outstanding around the £3000 mark.
so like i say if you know anything which i can hint the garage to check would be great as a need the car back to do my work.

thanks for any comments in which people bring forward even if it is slating the car coz that will make me feel better other people think the same :)

the garage you have taken it to sound awful.. please post them in the dealers section so none of us have the displeasure of using them!

it's stupid though.. they've obviously not put something back together right and so the car won't start... although, when i had my dephaser changed, it was a faulty dephaser and i had to take it to renault to be fixed, but at least my car actually started.

can you not just tell these people to f-off and take it to another garage? they sound as if they are taking the pish a bit with the length of time they are keeping it; are you sure they aren't charging you for storage of the vehicle aswell? i'd just pay the outstanding bill and take it somewhere else. it's pretty obvious that they don't know what they are doing.

then again, i'm suprised you let them keep it two weeks for a sensor to be changed without phoning them up.. sensors don't take 2 weeks to get hold of and fit! i'd be constantly on their backs.

i'd just get the car the hell out of that garage.

Report them to trading standards and get legal advice. Pay by cheque and cancel it.

Red 03 plate 5dr 1.9 Dynamique dci120

Best advice for Megane owners: sell it before it bankrupts you!

hi not had much time to get on here. i finally have the car back after calculating up they had it just over 12 weeks exactly! i had to pay £200 for some parts so the part they changed was warrented as my AA parts cover wouldnt cover those parts. i shall post them in the dealer section too. as they also charged me £250 for a chip in the windowscreen as that was there minimum access for damage up to £500 they didnt say what they had to do to get it running as they phones in a renault technican like they have been doing appaerently for the past 12 weeks and they said he struggled with it. i was not very well notified what was happening and i was calling them at least ever 2-3 days to find out what was happening. but anyway enough babling it got sorted and its not going back there again either!

and i did phone the trading standards and well they said if it takes them that long to do it then thats how long it takes!!
