Crank Shaft sensors

Postby perksta1 » Mon Oct 12, 2009 6:41 pm

Mine keeps failing to start due to build up of static on the crank shaft sensor and the fact it gathers dust :banghead apparentl nothing can be done other than reach into the engine and locate it and then touch it to release the static :nut
Had AA OUT A FEW TIMES FOR THIS AND THATS ALL I CAN DO :cry anyone elses do this

Good work Renault :mad

Check the grounding of the corresponding wiring loom. I have seen this problem before, generally due to build of sh1t around the exposed earth. The point can be located... if you open the bonnet and look down into the engine bay just behind the battery... you will see the earth bolted to the shell (14AUG black cable) . Remove it and clean with iron wool. This should put an end to the static build up/problem.
