injection fault 1.5 dci. air in fuel lines

Postby hoppie » Wed Aug 12, 2009 9:34 pm

i have a 2004 megane 1.5 dci, i noticed air in the fuel lines and the priming bulb is collasped. It looks like the pump is getting it hard to get diesel up from the tank. Took out the unit from the tank that houses the fuel gauge and fuel lines , no blockage. I now have an injector fault on dash. Car gets it hard to start when this fault is on. My mate clears the fault and it starts fine. Any ideas PLEASE

Dont know if this will help or if you have solved but i had exactly same problem on 1.9 dci and found fuel pipe from filter to pump (clear plastic with concertina on bends) had rubbed through slightly where it sits in the clips, allowing air in, but no diesel out, problem was worse when i parked nose up on a hill, £34 from dealer and problem sorted. Not sure why resetting faults would clear if it was this problem though?? unless your mates got a sloping drive and you parked nose down....
