Woe is me - More costly adventures in Megand land!

Postby john10001 » Wed Aug 26, 2009 9:11 pm

I'm back again! Typing this on my mobile from Scotland! Meant to be on holiday but its been a Megane nightmare so far! Had to in into garage in Perth to get fixed. Collapsed catalytic converter. Cost £470 to repair! Renault were wanting £500 just for the replacement part! The French have got this all sown up! Now after getting it back air con and blower completely gone dead. Not the fuse. I had tried using a small plug in 75w inverter in the cig lighter socket to charge my phone and camera. AC seemed to stop working after that. Dont know if its related? Cost me £25 from Halfrauds as well for the adapter! The only thing I can think of is that its just a coincidence or that Renault have built their cig lighter adapters different from the rest of automotive humanity with the polarity different and I have thus unwittingly shorted some electronics thats stopped the AC fans and clock from working?!#
Anyone have any ideas?
It has cost me over £1000 per year now just in repairs alone. Got to get rid I'm afraid! 3 years of hell.
John
