Re: Stickies for fuel consumption
I own a GT150 btw.
When i got my car it was because i'd be using it alot for work and used the motorway. Then 3 months after getting it i was made redundant and had to go back to more or less an office job in glasgow city centre. I now hardly get on the motorway and my average MPG is pretty low at about 36-37mpg.
I admit i had been driving fairly "quick" but ive also been trying to drive as economical as possible in the past month and it only made about 1MPG of a difference. My journey to work would take about 25min outside the rushhour but it takes about 45min in slow, stop/start traffic. Its just under 8miles one way.
the offical figures for the GT150 are;
Urban MPG (km/litre) 40.9 (14.48)
Extra MPG (km/litre) 60.1 (21.27)
Combined MPG (km/litre) 51.4 (18.19)
Now if i reset the trip i can get the 60MPG when on the motorway and travelling a constant 65mph-ish. its better if going about 65mph.
But as i said i don't get on the motorway. I've been changing gear at the correct time but it just seems this car does not like going slower than 50mph.

My 08 1.4 Dynamique averages around 34 mpg which isn't very good, i used to average around 30 mpg in my Renaultsport clio 182 and i used to drive that harder.

Re: Stickies for fuel consumption
How do I reset the MPG reading so that I can start from scratch when I next fill the car up with fuel
At the moment it's giving me an average reading from before I owned the car!
Thanks..

Thanks..

You can also cycle through the readouts on the stalk and press the reset button on your speedo when you get to the gallons used or miles travelled.

Re: Stickies for fuel consumption
Filled the Car up to just over 3/4 Full last week, Filled it to half way again yesterday before doing a 100 mile round trip for a mixed Country Road / Dual Carriageway journey...
Have done around 500 miles in total since resetting the counters to '0' and am averaging 40.4 MPG. This includes letting the engine warm up in the mornings for 5 mins (idle) before driving it....
Deffo notice that the lighter the car is the better MPG you will get, so I tend to not fill it up full but only half to 3/4 and it also helps to have an empty boot with no passengers!

Re: Stickies for fuel consumption
My car continues to amaze me. Took a topless cruise to Bristol and back from Tunbridge wells on less than a half tank that's nearly 340 miles on less than half a tank.

My record was reached today - 698 miles from 58.54 litres...
That's 55.21 MPG
Mind you I am doing the same route almost daily from Bedfordshire to Cambridgshire - I've hardly touched the brakes in weeks...

Re: Stickies for fuel consumption
The best the trip on my '53 plate 1.6 has ever read was 38 mpg on a 200 mile run at the weekend down the M4, at a steady 76 mph (according to the satnav, 80 mph on the speedo), excluding a few sections of 50 mph average speed cameras.
Round town, it does little more than 28 mpg; it gets serviced regularly, and whenever I check the tyres, they're fine...
Poor fuel consumption for sure - fortunately, we only do 7k miles per year!
