Check Injection

Postby Grrr » Sun Mar 01, 2009 7:59 pm

Hi guys!

I introduced myself on the board a few weeks ago, and here I am asking for help from my new buds! I hope you're going to be nice to me :D

I did a search for the fault on the forum, and most seem to talk about the diesel version. I have noted a couple of posts in case they relate to the fault, but I wondered if anyone knew outright what this problem is?

I purchased a 1.4 Rush petrol a few weeks ago (54 plate), and they had to send it to Renault before I collected it. On the test drive it was revving to 3000RPM with the "Check Injection" message and the service light on. It has been back since and they struggled to find anythinbg wrong; Renault say they:-
-Cleaned the throttle body
-Carrried out a reprogram

They billed the Car Shop £244.38 for the privilege, but unfortunately tonight... yep... "Check Injection", the service light came on and the engine management light came on. I haven't achieved 200 miles in the car yet!!!

If you turn the engine off and restart it, it runs normally and then randomly a while later (sometimes seconds others a few minutes) the error message returns with the service and engine management light. Sometimes it revs and other times it does not.

Has anyone got the magic answer please, as apart from this niggle, I really like the car. It's certainly cheaper to fuel up than my old X-Type Jag!
