Renault Customer Service - - - - - - ?

Postby Cisco » Wed Mar 05, 2008 11:53 am

Just been speaking to the Renault complains team regarding my 2004 Megane. After returning to my car in a busy car park I discovered one of he rear windows was down, fortunately the car had not been broken into, but the rear window regulator had gone, and the window was in a permanent down position.

As my car is over 4 years old (by 2 months) I was advised that the cost of the repair with labour and diagnostics check would be £350.00.

I spoke to the Renault so called "Customer Services Team" (0800 6340509) and was basically told, there was no way even though the regulators were a known fault, that Renault would fund any part of this repair. I was told if the vehicle had a history of regulator faults they would, but as mine didn't I had no chance.

I told them I wasn't happy with this and would like to escalate my compliant to another level. I was told that they deal with all complaints, and if they said I had no case, then I had no case.

Does any one know if I can progress this with a higher team at Renault, as there is no way I'm going to pay £350 for a known fault?

Cheers

I have complained to Renault UK as they are not prepared to offer me a 'goodwill payment' to offset the £300+ cost to recently replace the regulator on my June '04 Megane.
I know owners with similar aged vehicles have received these payments and I'm trying to put a case together - but I need some info to help.

Those of you who did receive a 'goodwill payment' can you tell me:
Exactly how old your Megane was when Renault UK sorted your regulator fault?
Has it (or did it have then) a full RENAULT DEALER Service history?

Renault UK have rejected my complaint on the grounds that my car has exceeded the manufacturers warranty (including the additional year added by Renault for this fault, I've learnt) and although it has a full service history, it's most recent (in March 2008) wasn't a "Renault" dealer service.
What this has to do with a regulator fault is beyond me, which is why I'm going to contest their decision.

Your help and advice would be most welcome.

Cheers... and Drive Safe

Gary.
