I have a Megane Grand Scenic 1.9DCI Priviledge on a 2005 plate. I Parked the car up as normal the other day and locked it. I was parked next to a Renault Laguna and as the driver unlocked his car I noticed my passenger window opening. All subsequent efforts to close the window have failed. Before I embark on a trip to my Local Renault dealer who will charge me £80 odd quid just to hook it up for a diagnoasitc I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to the problem and, more importantly, a solution to allow me to at least close the window.
Any advise will be greatly apreciated. Cheers all.

Re: Electric Window Problem
The only thing i can think of is diconneting the battery for 1 hour and let the cars computers reset, reconnect battery and then retry. failing that it maybe trip to dealers to reconfigure the cars computers, or it was just coicidence with the laguna driver, and it could be something like water getting into fuse boxes or ecu which can be an issue on meganes.

Re: Electric Window Problem
you need a new window regulator.
common problem.
do a search. the solution's been listed a few times but it's something like disconnect the negative off battery.. replace... deadlock car from remote... repeat until window is closed.

Re: Electric Window Problem
Regulator needs replacing.
Same happened to mine just before Christmas, Renault took it in Monday 22nd and replaced it free of charge, as the car is under 4 years old. It is a know issue apparantly, but mention it to them when you ring up. The guy at the service desk hadn`t heard of it, but as soon as he punched my reg no into the computer it took less than 30 secs for him to say "yes, 100% bill to Renault".

Re: Electric Window Problem
Cheers for your replies folks. Took it into Renault this morning and it was a faulty regulater. They repaired it free of charge and cleaned my car for good measure. Happy days
