Hi everyone
Can anyone help please. I have renetly had my rear discs and pads replaced and they have been making a terrible squeaking noise. During the MOT they did their usual singing while the mechanic was rotating the rear drivers side wheel (it seems to be only this one whining). He said to me i needed to adjust the cable as the rear brakes were sticking on when the handbrake was realised. I have not got a clue how to adjust the cable he said its easy and invloves removing the centre console, but i dont want to mess if its not supposed to be adjusted (some websites have said not to adjust the cable as it messes up the auto adjusters). Hope someone can advise me on this please as i go on holiday Saturday and don't fancy squeeling for 250 miles to Cornwall. I can't take it back to the garage that fitted the discs as they have closed down (typical).
Cheers

Re: Help with adjusting handbrake cable
He didn't offer he had a few cars in he just said its easy to do. Just remove the centre console and slaken off the nut on the cable. Sounds easy to him but i can't even work out how to remove the centre console to even look at how easy it will be to find the nut.

Re: Help with adjusting handbrake cable
just carefully prise away with a flat screwdriver the plastic section with the 2 slit's in where the handbrake emerges from.
that then gives you access to the adjuster nut.
that then gives you access to the adjuster nut.
