Card Reader Problem

Hi All,
hope someone can help me out with a problem i've been recently having. A few days ago my Renault Megane 1.4 16v Rush stopping reading my key card on the dash it says 'card not detected' so my car will not start its not the key its self because it opens and closes the doors . My car is 05 and 27 000 miles on the clock and only recently the warranty has run out.
Does anyone have any suggestions/ideas what i can do?
Anyone had the same problem as me?

Try the spare card that comes with the car,opening and closing is not an indication that the card is fine as this is the remote control system and it uses the card battery to work.The card itself carries a code that does not need the card battery for its operation so if you remove the card battery and try the card it will switch on your car but it will not lock and lock it.
I guess you lost the card code some how (placing it near your mobile phone for a long time for example) so try using the spare card,if it works fine and I think it will, go to your nearest Renault dealer and do not forget your car DIN number to re-code your faulty card.
