Carwash and Ariel??

really stupid question but do i need to remove the ariel before running the mg through a carwash?
DCi 120 for sale, 52,000 miles, £3250 ono

not neccessarily, but preferably....

btw.... had to smile when I read Ariel ind the carwash....thought of the washing powder....and only later realised you mean the ariAl on the roof.... ;-)

I think in the long run it might really be better to remove it. I think the mechanical strain on the arial socket is quite strong when those brushes bend it away....and I already had to replace my antenna socket once due to the electronics being damaged by water....photos of that here:

I wouldnt a car wash, best mate lost a windscreen wiper which then got smashed all over the roof and back of his car, plus as there was a disclaimer he couldn't get any thing off the operator in damages........ :eek
