IMMOBILISER TROUBLE-renault megane coupe 1.6 - 1996

Postby margaret-anne » Fri Jan 25, 2008 10:58 am

When pressing the fob key the door does not unlock.I can open the door manually but the car will not start, it does however turnover. I have put new batteries in the key fob and it worked then but when I tried to use car the next day the problem had come back again.
Any help would be greatly received
Thanks

I've got the same problem with my 2005 (55 plate) Megane Oasis.

I have to manually unlock the boot, then press the key fob to unlock the doors.

Once I'm in, everything's OK.

Locking the car via the key fob happens if the car is in a good mood. Otherwise, it's locking the doors manually.

If there is an easy (free!!) way to reprogram the key fob, it would be appreciated if anyone could let me know.

Cheers,

go on ebay, buy yourself a new fob. carefully unscrew it, swap the blade and transponder tag.

the ignition barrel seazed on mine and luckily managed to get it out and got another barrel and blade and just swapped the transponder over so it would work the imobiliser.

here is a way to lock doors without messing around with the emergency key, just dont lock your key inside when you get out
