Electric windows

Hi,

I'm a new (2nd) owner of a 54 reg Megane Privilege with about 50K miles.

However i've only done about 200 miles in 3 months and now the drivers side electric window will not go down. The other 3 work

Is this a common fault and a possible loose wire that can be quickly fixed, or something more sinister.

I knew i was in for some unreliable French moments but this is ridiculous!!

Very common problem on Meganes. Do a search and you will find loads of posts on this. There are also posts of people getting it repaired free through Renault out of the 3years warranty as its such a common problem. Could be a number of things usually caused by water getting into the door!! 1st off though have you tried the reset? Holding all the window buttons up for 10seconds(not sure if ignition should be on or off, try both) resets them. Try that before you take it in.
