Hi guys! Hope you are all well.
I just wanted to know whether there is a way to manually adjust the headlights on my 03 Megane Dynamique?
The driver side headlight is alot higher than the passenger side and im pretty sure its the passenger side which is at fault.
I have spoken to one of the lecturer's here at the college and he said there is normally just an allen key of some sort to do it....does anyone know if this is the case with our lowly Megane's?
Renault want £40 for the priviledge of adjusting them and i would rather not fork out if i can give it a go myself.
BTW Andy, loving the new look MOC! Very nice!
Thanks in advance.

Re: Manual Headlight Adjustment
open the bonnet up and have a look on top of the headlight. There should be a place to put an allen key in. Can't remember doing it on my megane yet. I did change the main beam bulb a few months ago, it wasn't in the bulb hold correctlywhich meant it was pointing at the floor a little jiggle and all sorted
Best thing to do is park up infront of a garage, or wall leaving a 6ft or so gap, then you can set them to the same height easily.

Headlights have electrical adjustment, each driven with its own motor. Are you sure that it is not that one light is stuck in the lowest position?

Re: Manual Headlight Adjustment
I had a look at the top of the headlight and there is a little picture of the headlight but no allen key hole thing.
When i set the height in the car using the little roller thing, they both move at the same time which means no matter how much i adjust them, they are still "out".
Is there a way to unplug the motor which makes the lights move up and down?
What i was thinking was to unplug the one which is too low, leave the other one plugged in so then only that one moves down when i adjust them from inside the car. Then keep moving it down so its in line with the other one?
Maybe a silly idea, but deparate times call for silly suggestions. :P
Thanks guys

No, please don't unplug anything. If they both move, set the regulator in position 0 and adjust them from under the bonnet. It is all described with pictures in the manual pointed at in the second link in my message in Links.

Hi Alex. The link does not work anymore.
I have the same issue for my Megane II, my headlights are too low and would like to adjust them.
Thanks.

Re: Manual Headlight Adjustment
I have one very low headlight, I cannot see how it is adjusted.
I have the front bumper off, lets see what I find.

Re: Manual Headlight Adjustment
Look further back, it's a hole in the bodywork, it doesn't look like it's in the light, but it is.
Easy to miss.
lf you've got the front off, take the headlight right out, then you'll see the allen key-way and next time you'll find it easy.
Bob.
