Outside air temperature indicator

Postby oldbury863 » Mon May 19, 2008 9:22 am

I have just noticed that the outside air temperature display on our Megane has completely vanished! :( Everything else on the dash is functioning, but not even a dashed line is showing where the temp should be. Have I done something to turn it off, or is this genuine fault?
Anyone got any ideas please?

Never heard about it and I've been around for a while.

New one on me too?

Maybe Webcode could shed a little light on this if he reads the thread?

Is it not just one of the modes it enters when it has no signal? I remember somebody selling the sensors on ebay said symptons include a dash, a blank screen or silly readings. Not verified though...

Thanks for the replies, I've just found this:- viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4842&p=35044&hilit=temperature+SENSOR#p35044 which seems to confirm that it might be just a sensor fault.
I'll have a look and report back. . . . . .

... unless maybe you were driving through a vacuum or perhaps rift in the space time continuum?

Don't discount it as a possibility. When I commute into Brighton from Lancing, the clock tells me it can take 45 minutes, but my mind seems to be telling me it took me about 55 years!!
