Hi all went out to the car and niethter one of my caeds would open it so i opened it with the key and the alarm was going off all beit quietly. Put the card in nothing the only thing i noticed that the side lights were flickering at the front as i left them in on position last night but the shud go off when locking the car. Has any body got any ideas if it is a flat battery as when i am in the car nothing at all works not even the coutesy lights but si that because i tripped the alarm if so will i be able to jump it.
Many thanks Alan

Re: Help Please Dead Car
When my battery died (1.9 dci), I could gain entry as normal but on pressing start, everything lit up and then died, then a second later everything kicked in again as if I had just got into the car and it let me try again, and it did the same. To test, I would put on all the electrics and see what happens, on mine the headlights dimmed massively and it just died a slow death, e.g. windows barely going up and down etc.
I wouldn't bother trying to jump start the car unless it is an emergency and you can't get a new battery (if you believe it to be at fault). Why? There's simply too many electronics in my opinion on a modern car to be messing about. Many would disagree though and I bet many times it would be fine, just don't try and push start it!

Re: Help Please Dead Car
If your car battery is ok, I don't know if you are aware, but apparently you have batteries in the card (dependant on type).

All the signs of a flat (probably failed) battery

Jump starting a Megane can be a risky job, get a new battey.
