Re: Power Loss
Funny how the dealers always find the faults after warranty but when the warranty is valid there never seems to be anything wrong with the car. I just hope cars of tomorrow don`t come with expiry or use by dates

Re: Power Loss
I enjoyed reading your web page, thanks. These are a couple of references for completeness.
The following two links (as in my message in Links section) are the official documents describing the Engine Compartment Connection Unit, see chapter 87G in both.

I couldn't find any pics about removing the UPC so I made my own little guide in case anyone searches in the future: https://tallpaul.ucoz.co.uk/megane/

Re: Power Loss
Tallpaul,
What codes did they read from the ECU? It is hard to suggest anything without it. It would be also good to hook a laptop to the OBD2 port, drive around for a while, display the diagrams and analyse the curves. This might give you a pretty good idea of where to look for the fault. There exists a procedure of checking pressure in the ramp and the volume of fuel returned from injectors. Have they done it?
Why are they talking about the fuel system and the turbocharger in the same time? What's the chance that two different systems develop two independent faults in the same time? Have they checked the play in the turbocharger shaft? Why the pump? -- have they found metal shavings in the fuel filter? I would be careful in letting anyone apart from whom I personally know in the fuel system. If dirt is introduced there, then you will be looking at replacement of injectors and many other parts, which is expensive.
To your question -- the replacement procedure is described in the repair manual, which one must read first. Injectors require programming, the fuel pump and the turbo -- unlikely, I am not sure.

Re: Power Loss
right, turbo valve solonoid replaced, three weeks on and car seems fine, coughs now and again but nothing of concern, and no error messages. does it more when the car's down to its last 1/4 tank, but i just try and keep it full
