Door card removal

Postby villi » Tue May 06, 2008 9:00 am

Ok, so i think my passenger window regulator is nackered. It has been acting strangely, it got stuck open then it would open itself when deadlocking and now it just wont work, but its shut so thats ok.

I am trying to get the door card off to get access to everything but im coming unstuck with removing the door box thingamy. I have removed the two clips inside the box but it still doesent want to come out! Any suggestions?

Must i remove this box to get the fabric pannel off to susequently get to the two screws behind it?

Any help appreciated

Ok door card off.

Any suggestions on how to diagnoce a fault with the regulator?
Have checked power to the unit thats ok.
These are the connections on the regulator:-
Track Description
1 Lowering control
2 Raising control
3 Earth
4 + battery
5 Not used
6 Operation authorisation

What kind of signal should i see on track 1 and 2?
what is pin 6 all about?

I have no idea apart from looking in the repair manual pointed at in my message in Links section. I hope that somebody else will be more helpful...

once the box pins are out you can lift the box....try to first lift the rear side, that worked for me....

All sorted thanks.

Tested the passenger regulator on the drivers side and it worked fine so it must be a wiring fault/intermittence.
Any one have a wiring schematic so i can resolve this issue?

I only have the german version of a technical manual as PDF-file, but I don't think that might be of any use to you....

Has anyone got a UK technical manual on pdf?

Also, when removing the door panel, are there any hidden clips that will always break if not removed carefully? :banghead
