Hi everyone, just bought my renault megane and every time I start the car the CD player makes a really annoying sound until for a minute then plays the CD. It makes the same noise if I take out the CD and put another one in! Some times it doesnt even recognise the CD so I have to eject it and put it back in!
Any ideas anyone?
Thought the CD player might need cleaning?
Thanks
Phoenix

could try getting a cd head cleaner and giving that a go, is the sound like a clicking? as you sometimes get that on cd players as its trying to focus the beam by bouncing the head up and down.
Bumpy and full of coconuts.

i had the same problem. i asked Renault about it and they told me "you are using copied CDs and they are very thick" or "poor quality".
if u are using copied CDs, choose the very thin high quality ones!
this advice worked with me...

Tried a CD lens cleaner and it worked!
The only problem is when I use copied CD's a few times the problem arises again. Ok if I use geniune CD's. So it looks like you were right elgammal
How do you know that the coppied CD;s are the high quality thin ones?
Does it say on the case when you buy them that they are extra thin? Or is it a case of buying a certain brand like Sony?
Thanks
