Hi. I have a 53 plate Megane with the keycard that you must press to open the doors and enter into the slot to start.
Recently both my cards have been playing up. I am constantly changing batteries, having to open the car using the little key and slot on the passenger door (which is bloody annoying and sets of the alarm - not good when you work nights!), and one of them when put in came up with the message 'card not detected'.
I was wandering whether the issue is keycards, the reader, the sensors or a combination?!
How do you lock the car if the keycard fails? I usually have no bother locking the car with the buttons on the card but I'm sure its bound to happen sooner rather than later?
Also, does anyone ever get the problem of water buiding up in the door 'pocket' of the passenger door? For some reason I get it from time to time and have to then get ithe water out?! All very strange...
Cheers, gary

Keycards i can't help with it could be number of things. Door pocket though there are lots of posts on this it is a common problem caused by water leaking in from around the speaker. Apparently it is easy to solve with sealant arount the speaker housing although must admit i've never done mine i just mop out the water every now and then.

IGNORE THIS POST SEE MY ONE BELOW locking doors, in the user manual for 57 plate, i remember reading if you stop engine, leave keycard in slot, open door press and hold down the start button until it bleeps then remove keycard and get out then close door all then should lock. i have not tried this and the manual was a bit scatchy about the button saying button 5 and pointing to one on right hand side where in our right hooker will be the start howver it could be pointing to the door lock button for a left hooker so give both a try.. also im sure i dont have to say this remember to take out your keydcard before getting out.....

to lock doors without using key card,
stop engine,
remove key card from slot,
open door,
press and hold door lock/unlock button
(you will hear a click keep held down for upto 5seconds now hear a clunk and dash display will go out),
take yourself and keycard outside and close door,
doors are now locked
