Pasengers Front Window Strange noise

Postby sproket » Thu Aug 23, 2007 12:55 pm

Has anyone had any problems with the passengers window when going down making a loud cracking noise :? it sounds like a metalic sound like the window is not staying in it's guides properly.

Any info would be good as it is booked in for monday, just so i know that the dealer isn't pulling my leg.

cheers

Well put the car in today and when i went to pick it up i was told that there was nothing wrong with it, then i get home and put the window down and guess what, problem is still there. So i will be back onto the dealer in the morning, that was after i said to the dealer that it might be the window regulator as sudjested by Webcode. So i will let you all know how i get on. :?

Well my meg has been back in to the dealers again for a third time for the window and the reversing light switch. the reversing lights got fixed but yet again after stripping down the door and lubricating the window mechanism the fault is still there. I even told that that i have heard that it could be the window regulator like webcode said it might be. Now the car is out of warranty and i have to take it back up again so that the service manager can have a look. Surely if it was the regulator it would have taken them less time and cost les to replace it the first or second time it was in. since the dealership has changed hands from "Reg Vardy" to Evens Halshaw it seems that it has gone down hill service wise that is . :x

That noise sounds very similar to one I just had. The dealer replaced both regulators without quibble and the noise is gone. This suggests Renault are well aware of the problem. Sorry to hear that your dealer is acting the fool.

had the regulator go on ours yesterday. parked up at toys-r-us and locked car and when we got back to it passenger window had dropped  initally thought someone had broken into it as i spotted no window when walking back to the car. not a hint of life from either door switch to lift it so popped to dealers which was only 5 mins away. they stripped it aftera a 30 min wait and diagnosed the regulator, had it replaced within 2.5 hours of turning up at the dealers with the car. not a bad job for once and thank god for the extended warranty, cars been in more since we had it extended.

PS did help having the wife and a 14 month old sprog there, with baby seat is in the passenger front seat and explaining to them its her daily car to get them moving

Well I had the car back to the dealer yesterday and their "Top" technician had a look at it and guess what it's the regulator and it is booked in for next Tuesday, i have been told that it should have been replaced the second time i took it back. so I'll wait until next week to see if it is the fix of the year :)

Thank goodness for that

I was just going to advise that you keep documentation of when you first reported the problem etc but thankfully that's now not needed.

It's a poor state of affairs when it's the fourth time you've reported it before anything is done. I bet that you're pleased that 'senior technician' was there.
