Rear door pull handle

Postby Larry May » Tue Aug 14, 2007 11:39 am

The cap thing next to the rear door pull passenger side is loose. I can pull it out with my fingers to reveal a hole in the door. How do I fix this back into place (without using no-nails!).
Is this a common problem?

Maybe I can help

Hi,

I assume you're reffering to the fixed part of the handle that doesn't move when you pull it. I think they can be accessed by removing the door card on the inside and there should be a screw if memory serves.

If you find the part is broken at the fixing, it'll have to be glued or replaced. As far as I'm aware you can only buy it with the full handle at the dealers and they aren't sold seperately. I did however buy some off eBay a while back (from someone who just needed the handle part) and since I've just sold my Megane, have them spare. So if you do find you need a replacement, let me know and perhaps I can save you some money!

The handle plug is secured by an arm that is part of the inside mechanism...

Open the door and look for a plastic grommet on the door shut nearest this handle plug.. Look into the hole and you should see a silver coloured arm.. using a screw driver push it in to lock the plug in place..
