squeaks and rattles

Postby dci120matt » Wed Aug 22, 2007 7:20 am

i have had my car nearly 3 weeks and when i test drove it and was driving home no squeaks or rattles were present and now i have about 3 or 4 different ones, the one that really annoys me is there is a rattle from the roof(panoramic) and so i open it to the first setting then close it again and it goes away for a while, has anybody had this? and also my mate says you can buy a cd that you play when driving and it tells you where the rattle is coming from, is he taking the mick or can you get one? cheers

I think he's taking the mick, I suppose if you turn the CD up loud enough it would mask the rattle

Panoramic sunroofs often do it and all that is usually needed is a regrease, dealer will do it if it's still under warranty if not you'd either have to do it yourself or find someone to do it for you.

You can buy a CD that plays all sorts of different frequencies that are supposed to mimic road vibrations. Whether they are any good is a different matter?

Where are the rattles coming from, apart from the sunroof?

My headlining makes a hellva crackly noise like there are ruddy crisp packets stuffed up there!

Does my head in, but I'm certainly not pulling down the lining just to re-adhere it better! :p

Hi gang the cd was reviewed in Auto Express a few weeks ago. They tried it in one of their cars and said it worked. so there you go something at last that can sort out rattles.
