air con

Postby dci120matt » Sat Aug 18, 2007 2:32 pm

hello, i have just had my air con re-gassed but it is still not ice cold the garage that did it said the compressor is not working, we checked all of the fuses and they are fine, they said it might be a relay as the car is only 3 years old they doubt it would be anything serious, has anyone else had this problem and where would i find the relay? cheers

To be honest it may just be the Renault air con. I had a Peugeot before my reno and when i first got the reno i thought there was something the matter with the air con, had it all check regassed etc. and it was the same.

i can sit all day long with it on 15 and not feel totally chilled. In the pug i used to have it on 18 for a few mins then have to turn it up due to it getting too cold.

If its manual aircon its easy enough to check, push the button to turn it on then wait around 8-10 seconds, you should then see and hear the revs drop a little. If they do then the relay is working and the compressor is coming on. If they dont then check the relay

Hallo

I had the same problem. And the relay is also ok.
I am sure that the failure is the Electronic pressure switch/pressure sensor
it´s belowe the condensor on the pipe.

I have tryed some electric thing on compressor and its ok.

The pressure switch its like an magnetic clutch and its a common problem on the Megane II.

Tomorrow i will ordre the sensor at Renault (very expensive i Denmark nearly 100 pound)

The pressure sensor will prevent the compressor coming on if it itself faulty and also is refrigerant is low

What´s the problem then, is it the relay ?
but the relay is intregreted in the printcard, and you cant see which one is the air con relay.

When i push the A/C button nothing happen, not even relay clicking or motor going down. (i can hear relay clikcking on the rear heater).

my car has got climate control, and when i push the auto or a/c button the blower starts but no cold air, do you think i will be able to get it fixed on warranty as i have got just under 6 months left?
