Battery fuse link
My dad's got a Megane and after driving thru deep water it stopped. Did a few tests and it seems that the fuse link on the battery pos terminal has blown. Any one know what rating it is and how much for a new one?
I think you may have to elaborate on the make and model a little and your problem.
Personally, I have never seen a fuse directly connected to a battery - it would have to be in excess of 100amps just to power the starter..
More likely a smaller fuse has blown somewhere due to water ingress, though this is extremely unlikely on any car with a 12V system. Check the ignition system if it's a petrol - that might lead somewhere.

Best advice for Megane owners: sell it before it bankrupts you!

It's an 04 Diesel. There is 3 fuses in a plastic holder on top of the battery post. 2 are 30 amp with small wires attached and then there is this BIG one with 2 large wires attached. The car unlocks but there is no ignition lights or anything. When i bridged the link with 30 amp fuse wire the lights all came back, but he tried to start it and it blew the wire. When we tested the BIG link with a multimeter it showed no continuity.
