dashboard lights wont go off -discharging battery

i have a renault meganne 2003 1.9diesel dynamique ,when i lock the car the dashboard lights remain on,as well as the brake lights,this discharges the battery if i leave the car standing for more than a few days,and if i leave the car unlocked the battery is dead by morning.
i took it to dealer ,in 2 hours they could not solve it,i am taking it in again next week,i dread to think how long it will take to solve the problem.ANY IDEAS WHAT IS WRONG

It's an obvious fault - if the lights stay on they can hardly say they couldn't find anything wrong with it so they should bloody well fix it. Don't take any crap off them, leave the car with them until it's fixed and take one of their courtesy cars.
