display for cruise control/ speed limiter

Hi gang not been on for a while have had no problems to report untill now, nearly one year on my display for the trip computer which show display for cruise control is not quite right. when I switch on the cruise control the display says cruise control and stays on that display. now it returns to the milage display, I have to go though the menue untill the cruise control screen shows. I have had two models with cruise control so know the display should stay on. Also four time now my light and heater illumination all come on but not the speedo and rev counter. I have had to stop turn off the engine open the door to turn lights off, then restart and all is well. any ideas what it could be before I book it in for a service.
