I’m experiencing issues with my 1.4 2003 Megane II, which was lightly repaired after a head-on crash 15 years ago. Recently, I've encountered electrical problems where the car wouldn't start because the fuel pump did not prime. Additionally, the throttle body made a buzzing sound; installing a new one did not resolve the issue as it produced the same sound.
I decided to swap the ECU using basic tools. I managed to remove the 95160 chip from the replacement ECU but had difficulties with the original. I attempted to read the EEPROM data on the replacement unit with a CH341A programmer, but it couldn’t read it, and I fear I may have overheated the chip. After reinstalling the old ECU, the key was no longer recognized, which I suspect is due to potential damage. The odometer displayed the correct mileage, and all other functions appeared normal, but the key was not recognized. Both the new and old ECUs have similar numbers, ending in -7A. I also have a third ECU with a -7A ending.
My question is: How can I repair the damage if the 95160 chip in my original ECU is fried? I don't have matching comfort modules for my spare ECUs. I need to learn how to pair a working ECU with the comfort module. Is another full set required to address this issue? Also, I'm looking for recommendations on tools for reading ECU flash memory. Currently, I have a CH341A and an EZP2023+, but neither could read the chip. Additionally, I have a Ford Ka RU8 with a broken ECU, so investing in the right tools could be worthwhile.

Re: Megane 1.4 2003: Destroyed ECU.
Okay. The keycard had a broken solder point between the round antenna component and the circuit board, so fortunately, the flash in the original unit was not destroyed. The car now recognizes the card and rotates, but still does not start. I will just have to gather some courage now to try the flash swap again. Perhaps I will do some additional diagnostics before that.
