Megane 1.5 DCI abs module

Hello everyone

Could anyone tell me please , does the abs module control brake lights ?

The reason I ask , I have got access to the interior module ( the big black box ) ready to send off for repair , but a mechanic seems to think the abs module controls the brake lights so I need to buy a new module as no power has been detected going into the ABS
apparently his code reader is not detecting the abs module ??

I am just baffled as to why I would need a new abs module for brake lights ?? I'm no mechanic so thought I would ask here , and exactly where is the location of the abs module plz

Hi Melanie, the abs unit is in the far right hand corner of engine bay, up against the bulk head, but it doesn't work the brake lights.

Once again thank you ever so much for your reply ! without this forum i am sure i would be £££££££ out of pocket , hence i asked here 1st before going forward on the abs unit !


I love the car , but dam its a nightmare
