Hi I've recently ended up with a 2008 Megane est dci which I plan on keeping as my daily runner
Which battery do you suggest to use as the ones I keep using end up draining very quickly yet my alternator must be fine as car runs without a battery
Also upon trying different battery's sometimes it would tell me my battery was low when I know they were fully charged new ones , also before it said low battery it would usually come up with select neutral first which it was
Help , 2008 megane dci (Battery?)

Sounds like a faulty alternator - You should have greater than 13.5v dc being generated with engine running.
Running alternator without battery connected may cause damage.

Re: Help , 2008 megane dci (Battery?)
I think you have a dodgy alternator.
If it fails to charge more than one battery, it's more likely to be the alternator.
I'd reckon charging the battery requires more juice than running the engine (once started) so it sounds like it's not up to the job.
Should be easy enough to check - try measuring the voltage from the alternator with the engine running..
Sounds expensive. Sorry.

Checked the battery and volts today. It's not the battery after all . The car still flashes up select neutral and low battery sometimes tho , will refuse to start now and again. Any1 else experienced this
