Erratic behaviour 1.6 16v
Hi all. My 2005 1.6 16v has been running erratically for a while now. It would struggle to start and would drop in revs before picking up again. Setting off it will get so far before power would drop, then suddenly spring back into life, as if something was starving the engine of either fuel, air or both. This can be quite annoying and ultimately dangerous as it can happen setting off at a roundabout. I read various forums and the general consensus was replace the camshaft sensor and or the crankshaft sensor. I have replaced both to be sure, but after an initial run it's no different. The dephaser was replaced a couple of years ago along with the cambelt so I'm sure it's not linked to this as it started a while after. I haven't cleaned the throttle body, but it looks clean inside and I've run some RedEx through. ANY IDEAS would be appreciated. I'm sick of this car now. Worst car I've ever owned but typically can't afford to replace it yet. Just throwing money away.

Hi
Does the engine management light come on when the fault appears?, I would buy a new set of pencil coils from ebay they are cheap and many are of better quality than the original.
