Megane 2001 1.6 AUTO

Hi

Just a quick question as I don't own a Megane yet but I am looking to get a cheap convertible.

I have found one that is in mint condition but has a driving issue, that is:

Car drives ok for 10 miles or so...the engine management light comes on and car goes into limp mode. If you stop and turn engine off when starting it up again the management light goes off and car continues to drive .....repeat this process...

Guy wants £200 for the 2001 1.6 Auto. I am happy to additional money to fix (Local garage) but not sure if it is worth the punt.

Any one have any ideas what the issue may be?

Without it being hooked up and the codes read it's a gamble, it could be something simple or major, tbh I'd be surprised if the seller hasn't allready had it hooked up and is just trying to shift it on, having said that it's only 200 quid so I'm sure it could be broke and sold off for more than that if it was a major problem
